Sultan Abdul Hamid II was the 34th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, who ruled from 1876 to 1909. He was born in 1842 in Istanbul, Turkey, and was the son of Sultan Abdulmejid I. Sultan Abdul Hamid II is known for his efforts to modernize the Ottoman Empire and for his role in resisting European imperialism. During his reign, he implemented a series of reforms aimed at modernizing the Ottoman Empire's economy, education system, and military.
